From a list-serv...

Nebraskans for Peace and the Nebraska Coalition for Peace are organizing a march starting at the Nebraska Capital Building and finishing at the Nebraska State Federal Building. There will be a vigil at the end for Providence IWW member and Nebraska native Alex Svoboda who was attacked by police on August 11 at an IWW picket in North Providence.

The march will begin at 12:30 CT to coincide with the start of the North Providence Anti-Police Brutality Rally, which will begin at 1:30 ET.

To Alex, her family & friends,

I taught Alex's brother Nick at Lincoln High School, and my son was a 3rd grader in Alex's mom's class at Randolph Elementary here in Lincoln, Nebraska. I just wanted to let Alex, her friends and family know that many of us here in Lincoln are concerned for Alex and her well-being and are heartsick about the pain and emotional distress that all of you are going through. We will keep you in our hearts and are hopeful for the best possible outcome for her injuries. Please know that you are in our thoughts, and we are ready to be supportive in whatever way we can.

Con carino,
Erica Birky Rios & family
